Hillsboro tennis tops Miami Trace, 4-1

HILLSBORO — The Miami Trace girls tennis team traveled to Hillsboro Thursday to take on the Lady Indians in an SCOL match.

Hillsboro won the match, four courts to one.

At first singles, Bayley Thompson lost to Peyton Kidder, 1-6, 1-6.

Anita Pursell won her second singles match against Erin Clark, 6-4, 7-5.

“She’s doing great at this surprise position because of an injury,” Miami Trace coach Kim Schirtzinger said.

Miami Trace had to forfeit the third singles court.

At first doubles, Jackie Wisecup and Beth Hogsett lost to Jessica Moon and Abby Harmon, 7-6 (7-1), 2-6 and 5-10.

At second doubles, Kyleigh Slone and Kenzie Seyfang lost, 1-6, 0-6.

Miami Trace will play at Unioto Monday and host Clinton-Massie Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Miami Trace will end the regular season at Gardner Park against the Lady Blue Lions Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
