Lady Panthers soccer falls 3-0 to Unioto

The Miami Trace girls soccer team hosted the team from Unioto High School for a non-league match Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at Miami Trace High School.

Unioto won the match, 3-0.

The Shermans led 1-0 at the half.

Jayla Campbell had the hat-trick (three goals) for Unioto.

Campbell scored at the 30:13 mark of the first half.

The two goals in the second half came with 36:54 and 19:59 remaining, respectively.

Assists went to Stephanie Kane and Sophia Garcia.

Taylor Barrett had 19 saves in goal for Miami Trace.

“Taylor made some really excellent saves throughout the game,” Miami Trace head coach Cailtin Francis said. “They are just a very talented team. We tried to hang with them. We had trouble containing No. 18 (Campbell).

“Overall, our team has been showing improvement throughout the season,” Francis said. “We just want to continue showing that as we move forward.”

Miami Trace, now 2-5 in the SCOL, 2-8 overall, will host Wilmington Thursday at 5 p.m.

Unioto improves to 6-1-4 overall.
