Lady Panther tennis falls to ‘Cane

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers tennis team played an SCOL match for the final time at Wilmington Tuesday, Aug. 23.

The Hurricane won the match, 5-0.

At first singles, Macy Detty lost to Veronica Ilg, 1-6, 0-6.

At second singles, Cassie VanDyke lost to Sophie Reed, 3-6, 1-6.

Bayley Thompson played Brooklyn Nielson and lost 1-6, 0-6 at third singles.

At first doubles, Anita Pursell and Jackie Wisecup lost to Allie Kees and Katie Schroeder, 0-6, 0-6.

At second doubles, Haiven Pepper and Cameron Bucher lost to Kalista Adkins and Emily Davis, 0-6, 0-6.

Miami Trace had two j-v matches, falling in both.

Beth Hogsett lost 0-8, and Kyleigh Slone and Kenzie Seyfang lost, 2-8.

Miami Trace’s next match will be Tuesday, Aug. 30 at home against Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Panthers played their first match on the new courts at the high school Wednesday against East Clinton. Please see a future edition of the Record-Herald for a report on that match.
