This fall’s annual Miami Trace Panthers versus Washington Blue Lions varsity football game has been moved from Friday, Oct. 28 to Saturday, Oct. 29.
The game will be played Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Gardner Park.
According to a statement from Washington High School Athletic Director Jon Creamer, the officiating crew slated to work the Panthers-Blue Lions game on Oct. 28 is no longer together.
There was not another crew to be found to work the game on Oct. 28.
After conferring with administration from both schools, it was agreed that (moving the game to Saturday, Oct. 29) is what needed to take place to secure another officiating crew, Creamer said in his statement.
“This could be a new and exciting thing for the community to move this game to a night all its own,” Creamer said. “We hope for good weather, good attendance and a great rivalry game.”
