Miami Trace welcomed the Circleville Lady Tigers for a non-conference basketball match-up Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Cold shooting was hurtful for the Miami Trace cause as Circleville posted a 39-27 victory.

The Lady Tigers were led by freshman Maddie Blakeman with 12 points. Senior Morgan Blakeman scored 10 and junior Faith Yancey had eight points.

“Circleville got out in transition early,” Miami Trace head coach Kayla Dettwiller said. “They’ve got a lot of speed. The Yancey kid and the older Blakeman girl, they get up in the passing lanes.

“Sometimes we just have to take a little bit better care of the ball,” Dettwiller said. “(We need to) make sure we have people cutting to the right areas and making the right pass to the right spots.”

Miami Trace cut a 10-point halftime deficit to four points at 25-21 with 3:48 to play in the third quarter.

However, the Lady Panthers would get no closer on this night.
