Washington High School senior Addison Chambers had a school record-tying performance last week. Chambers, a four-year starter for the Lady Lion soccer program, scored six goals against Madison Plains on Thursday. This tied a school record, which she now shares with 2013 graduate of Washington High School, Ashley Burden (Lovett).

Chambers’ six goals led the Lady Lions en route to a 13-0 victory over the Golden Eagles. Also scoring goals for Washington on Thursday were junior Tyrena Cowman, sophomore Destany Snyder, and freshman Jannyah Villalobos-Burns, who each scored one goal. Sophomore Kaithlynn Maquilling and freshman Calee Ellars each scored two goals for the Lady Lions. Ellars contributed to the shutout in the first half at goalie, while senior Jordan McCane contributed to the shutout as goalie in the second half.

The Record-Herald will have coverage this week of the Lady Lions first match in FAC play this season, at home against Chillicothe. This match is set to take place on Tuesday, August 30.
