Lady Lions fall to Hillsboro, 41-17

The Washington Lady Blue Lions varsity basketball team hosted Hillsboro for a Frontier Athletic Conference game Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021.

Hillsboro jumped out to a 13-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and went on to win the game, 41-17.

Hillsboro freshman Blake Herdman was the game’s leading scorer with 15 points.

Senior Gracie Dean scored nine and senior Brynn Bledsoe had six points.

Junior Natalie Woods led Washington with six points. Junior Allie Mongold scored four, freshman Maggi Wall hit one three-point field goal for three points, senior Aaralyne Estep and freshman Aysha Haney both scored two points.

Hillsboro led 22-7 at the half and 31-13 at the end of the third quarter.

In the j-v game that night, Hillsboro won, 21-15.

Alaysia Dotson led Washington with six points. Trinity George scored five and Kaithlyn Maquilling and Jada Ryan both had two points.

Reagan Eastes was the game’s leading scorer for Hillsboro with nine points.

Morgan Garman scored five for Hillsboro, Gracie Thoroman and Addyson Miles both scored three and Amani Cumberland scored one.
