Despite playing both days in the rain, the BCSO (Buckeye Christian School Organization) held their Boys State Final 4 soccer championship at Fayette Christian School recently.

On the first day, the Crusaders (the No. 2 seed) defeated No. 3 seed Fremont Temple by a 12-2 score.

This was the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams.

Fayette claimed their third victory over the Warriors after seven different players scored in the semifinals.

Nate Crichton led the way with four goals and added an assist. It was the third time this season Nate has scored four goals in a game and the second time it occurred against Fremont.

Luke Wright added two goals and one assist. Gage McDaniel also had two goals.

Zander Ivey added a goal and an assist while Brady Bumpus, Logan Figuerado and Jake Crichton each scored one goal.

Luke Randall and Cylus Westcot each had a goal for Fremont with Bradyn Ash assisting on both goals.

The second semifinal match saw No. 1 seed Bucyrus Wayside defeat No. 4 seed Dayton Temple in a high scoring 9-7 contest.

Jansen Gregory blew away the contest with a new individual scoring record of nine goals (yes he scored them all for the Warriors). Seth Pinter added an assist.

The old record we believe was six goals by an individual but we are still trying to see if that is the record.

If it is, Dayton’s Dieufart Mohoza had six of his team’s seven goals and one assist on the other and would had tied the old record.

Zachary Cron added the other goal for the Tigers.

Freshman Arnold Mugisha had an assist.

Saturday, in the Consolation game, Dayton Temple won 4-3 in overtime over Fremont Temple.

Scoring for Dayton was Timothy Cron, Abraham Howder, Aaron Bowling and Zachary Cron.

Fremont Temple was led by Luke Randall, Gideon Harner and Thomas Ash.

In the championship game, Wayside Baptist won over Fayette Christian by a 6-1 score.

Warriors were led by Jansen Gregory with four goals & with one each from Seth Pinter & Alejandro Garcia.

Brady Bumpus had the only goal for Fayette Christian.

The All-BCSO Tournament team was:

Darren Conklin, Fremont Temple; Alex Salim, Deiufart Mohoza, Dayton Temple; Nate Crichton, Brady Bumpus and Gage McDaniel, Fayette Christian; Isaiah McLeese, Seth Pinter, Alejandro Garcia, Wayside
