Blue Lion baseball blanks Plains, 4-0

The Washington Blue Lion baseball team hosted a former rival from the SCOL, Madison Plains, on Thursday, May 5.

Washington won the game, 4-0.

Jordan Flowers started and pitched a complete game, shutout for the Blue Lions. He gave up just four hits and struck out six with only one walk.

Zach Bayless went six innings for the Eagles, taking the loss. He gave up four runs (three earned) on seven hits with one walk and no strikeouts.

Caden Cluxton was the leading hitter for the Blue Lions, going 2 for 3 with a run scored and one rbi. One of his hits was a double.

Jarett Patton hat a double and drove in one run.

Aaron Greer had a hit and one rbi.

Cole Massie had one hit, Connor Chrisman had one hit and Tim Robinson had one hit and scored twice.

Sam Ward, Nate Jeffers, Bayless and Connor Davis had hits for Plains. Davis’ hit was a double.

Washington scored all the runs they would need with a run in the second inning.

The Blue Lions added single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

The Blue Lions are at Miami Trace Thursday for the opening game in the Sectional tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
