The Washington Blue Lion baseball team began last week with a home game against Chillicothe.
Washington played error-free baseball and had 12 hits in a 10-2 victory.
Jarett Patton was the winning pitcher for Washington. He threw a complete game, allowing just three hits. Both Chillicothe runs were earned.
Patton walked four and struck out six.
Nihiser started and took the loss for the Cavaliers. He went four innings with 12 hits and 10 runs (eight earned). He did not walk a batter and struck out one.
Benson worked three scoreless innings with two walks for Chillicothe.
Washington had several batters with big games, led by Cole Massie going 3 for 3 with four rbi and one run scored.
Hayden Hufford went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles, two rbi and he scored two runs.
Caden Cluxton went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.
Tim Robinson was 2 for 4 with two runs and one rbi.
Brian Wilson had one hit and Trevor Mustain had one hit.
Robinson had two stolen bases, while Patton, Wilson, Hufford and Ruth each had one stolen base.

On Wednesday, April 20, the Blue Lions made the trip over to East Clinton High School to take on the Astros in another SCOL encounter.
The Blue Lions won this battle, 4-2.
Jordan Flowers pitched a complete game for the win for Washington. Going seven innings, Flowers allowed just three hits and two runs (both unearned) with two walks and eight strikeouts.
Conner got the loss for the Astros. He pitched seven innings with six hits and four runs (three earned) and two walks. He struck out seven Blue Lion batters.
Defensively, Washington had three errors while East Clinton committed five.
Caden Cluxton led the Blue Lions at the plate, going 3 for 3 with two runs, one rbi and four stolen bases. One of his hits was a double.
Trevor Mustain went 2 for 3 with one run scored and one rbi. He also had one stolen base.
Jarett Patton went 1 for 2, driving in one run.
Cole Massie scored one run for the Blue Lions.
Vondas, Conner and Michael had hits for the Astros.
Both teams left five runners on base.
