Indians shut out Blue Lions, 7-0

HILLSBORO — Just 24 hours after beating their rivals, Miami Trace, in the first of two meetings on the season on Wednesday, the Washington Blue Lion baseball team played another SCOL game Thursday, this time at Hillsboro.

The Indians won this game, 7-0.

Cameron pitched a complete game, four-hit shutout for Hillsboro. He did not walk a batter and he struck out eight.

Jarett Patton started on the mound for the Blue Lions and absorbed the loss. He pitched four innings with seven hits and seven runs (three earned) with no walks and five strikeouts.

Jordan Flowers worked two innings for Washington. He allowed no runs on one hit with one walk and two strikeouts.

Hillsboro scored in each of the first four innings Thursday.

The Indians posted one run in the first and one in the second.

Hillsboro put two on the board in the third and completed the scoring for the game with three runs in the fourth.

Caden Cluxton had two of Washington’s four hits.

Patton had one hit and Trevor Mustain had the other hit.

Walker led Hillsboro at the plate, going 2 for 3. Six other Indians each collected one hit.

Errors were costly for the Blue Lions as they committed four that led to four unearned runs.

Washington (now 7-3 overall, 5-3 in the SCOL) is back at home Friday to take on Clinton-Massie at 5 p.m.
