MT v’ball to host Jackson Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers volleyball team will host Frontier Athletic Conference opponent Jackson in a Sectional championship match in the Division II tournament Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The Record-Herald received the information on the time adjustment from Miami Trace High School Athletic Director Aaron Hammond.

The Sectional championship was originally set for Saturday at 1 p.m.

Miami Trace defeated Hillsboro Wednesday night, 3-0.

Also Wednesday, Jackson won its match against Fairfield Union, 3-2.

Miami Trace will be playing for the program’s fourth Sectional title and its first since 1997. Miami Trace is having perhaps its best season ever, record-wise, at 17-1. The Lady Panthers were ranked in the top 20 in the state in Division II in the coaches poll all season, starting at No. 13 and finishing tied for No. 18.

In other Sectional semifinals Wednesday, Unioto beat Washington, 3-0 and Circleville beat River Valley, 3-0. Circleville will host Unioto Saturday.

Vinton County beat Meigs, 3-0 and Gallia Academy defeated Athens, 3-0. Vinton County will host Gallia Academy Saturday.

In the upper part of the bracket Wednesday, No. 1 seed Sheridan beat Warren, 3-0 and Waverly outlasted Logan Elm, 3-2. Sheridan will host Waverly Saturday.
