CHILLICOTHE — The Washington Blue Lion boys golf team competed in the Division II Sectional tournament Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Jaycees course in Chillicothe.
As a team, Washington shot a score of 403 and placed eighth.
The top five teams and top five individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the District tournament, which will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Crown Hill Golf Club just outside of Williamsport.
Washington will be sending two players to the District; senior Ty Rose and freshman Garrett Wahl.
Wahl had a score of 90 and placed in a tie for 14th overall.
Rose shot a 93 and was 21st overall.
Fairfield Union won the Sectional with a 325.
Unioto was second at 340, followed by Circleville, 366; Hillsboro, 371 and McClain, 386. Those teams all advance to the District. The winning team at the District and the top individual not a member of that team, will move on to the State tournament.
Freshman Luke Crabtree shot a 106, and freshman John Wall and senior Brice Cartwright both had scores of 114.
Scores for McClain: Wesley Potts, 88; Carson Spangler, 92; David Edwards, 103; Seth Wise, 103 and Robbie Wise, 106.
Scores for Hillsboro: Gabe Mycroft, 90; Lawton Parry, 90; Bentley Watson, 91; Josh Crawford, 100; Gavin Puckett, 103.
Freshman Charlie Lewis of Unioto was the medalist with a 77.
