Miami Trace MS track teams take 2nd at London

The Miami Trace Middle School track team opened the 2016 season Wednesday, March 30 at London in a tri-meet against the Red Raiders and the Westfall Mustangs.

The Miami Trace boys team placed second, just two points behind London, 60 to 58.

Andrew Amore won the high jump, clearing 4’ 10”.

Cole Enochs won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:25. He also won the 1600-meter run in 5:36.

Caleb Perry won the 400-meter dash in 1:00.08.

The Panthers’ 4 x 400-meter relay won in a time of 4:26. That team was comprised of Perry, Caden Sweitzer, Kody Burns and Enochs.

Amore was second in the pole vault and the 200-meter run.

Burns was second in the 1600-meter run.

Henry DeBruin placed second in the 400-meter and 800-meter run.

The 4 x 100-meter relay of Cyrus Keplinger, Sweitzer, Jaden Haldeman and Branson Morris took second.

The 4 x 200-meter relay team placed second. That team was made up of Mcale Callahan, Colin Farrens, Haven Thomas and Keegan Terry.

Third place finishes were recorded by Sweitzer in the 100-meter dash; Morris in the 110 and 200-meter hurdles and DeBruin in the 800-meter run.

The Miami Trace girls team also finished second to London in the meet.

Miami Trace recorded five first place finishes.

Aubrey Schwartz won the discus throw at 62’ 1”. She also won the shot put with a distance of 29’ 7 1/2”.

Sayler Preston won the pole vault, clearing a height of 7’ 6”.

Abby Arledge won the 200-meter dash in a time of 30.66.

Olivia Fliehman won the 800-meter run in a time of 3:03.

Miami Trace came in second in a total of four events.

Kylie Pettit was second in the pole vault and Arledge took second in the 400-meters.

The 4 x 100-meter relay of Jazdyn Williams, Shania Villarue, Chloe Scott and Lilly Litteral and the 4 x 200-meter relay team of Schwartz, Hazen Jacobs, Kate Leach and Litteral, both placed second.

Bridget Perkins was third in the high jump, Pettit was third in the 1600-meter run and Fliehman was third in the 400-meter dash.

Miami Trace’s next meet is Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Washington High School.
