Massie baseball beats Blue Lions, 12-2

The Washington Blue Lions traveled to Clinton-Massie High School Wednesday for an SCOL opener featuring two of the three teams that tied for the league championship in 2015.

Massie won the game, 12-2 in six innings.

Greathouse started for the Falcons and worked two innings, with two hits and one run (unearned). He walked one and struck out three.

Trampler came on in relief and got the win for Clinton-Massie. He pitched four innings with two hits and one run (unearned). He walked two and struck out one.

Cole Massie started and took the loss on the mound for the Blue Lions. He pitched five innings with four hits and six runs (one earned). He walked three, struck out four and hit two batters.

Grant Patterson pitched two-thirds of an inning with five hits and six runs (one earned), with one walk and one strikeout.

Washington was limited to four base hits, but six Blue Lion errors led to 10 unearned runs for the Falcons.

For the Blue Lions, Aaron Greer hit a double and drove in one run.

Hayden Hufford had one hit and one rbi.

Brian Wilson had one hit and Nick Barrett had one hit.

Massie scored both runs for Washington.

Washington’s game at Paint Valley was postponed on Thursday.

The Blue Lions (2-1, 0-1) will be at Chillicothe Friday and home against East Clinton Monday at 5 p.m.
