Panther bowlers win First Capital Baker Bash

The Miami Trace Panthers boys bowling team began the 2020 portion of their schedule with a match against the McClain Tigers Thursday, Jan. 2 at LeElla Lanes.

Led by Connor Collins with a 237 and Andrew Amore with a 231, along with Jay Caudill’s 204, the Panthers were victorious over the Tigers.

On Saturday, Jan. 4, Miami Trace traveled to Chillicothe for the First Capital Baker Bash.

The Panthers competed with 17 other teams.

After the first four qualifying games, the Panthers stood fourth.

By the end of the qualifying of 16 games, the Panthers were sitting in first place.

In the first elimination round, the Panthers won, 2-1.

In the second round, the Panthers won again, 2-1, advancing to the championship match.

The Panthers completed the team victory, going 2-0 for the championship.

“The team worked hard and is playing well together,” Miami Trace head coach Ron Amore Sr. said.

Miami Trace is back in action at home (LeElla Lanes) Thursday to take on Chillicothe at 4:30 p.m.
