Lady Lions double up on Jackson, 46-23

JACKSON — The Washington Lady Blue Lions varsity basketball team visited Jackson High School Saturday for a Frontier Athletic Conference encounter with the Ironladies.

Washington started strong and consolidated the lead in the second and third quarters to roll, 46-23.

With the win, the Lady Lions are now 4-2 overall, 2-2 in the FAC.

Washington had three players in double figures, with senior Shawna Conger and freshman Natalie Woods both scoring 12 points.

Sophomore Jeleeya Tyree-Smith had 10 points, a team-high seven rebounds and three assists.

Conger had five rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Woods had four rebounds and senior Halli Wall had four rebounds and three assists.

The Lady Lions had 31 rebounds, six on the offensive end.

Washington led 15-5 at the end of the first quarter and 24-9 at the half.

After three quarters of play, Washington was in control, 40-15.

Washington will host former SCOL opponent Wilmington Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Washington will play at Miami Trace Saturday at 6 p.m.
