The Washington Blue Lion eighth grade boys tournament run was cut short on Monday night, Feb. 8 at the hands of the Astros.

East Clinton knocked the Blue Lions out of the tournament in the first round, 54-42.

East Clinton led the game from the tip-off to the final buzzer.

Late in the fourth period, the Blue Lions were able to cut the lead to four with Garitt Leisure hitting back-to-back three pointers. The Astros quickly countered with five straight points increasingly their lead to nine and that was too much for the Lions to make up.

Leading scorer for the Lions was Garitt Leisure with 12. Trevor Rarrick had 10. Both Levi Ludwick and Gabe Arazo put in nine, and Eli Lynch scored two.
