Jackson takes FAC boys golf lead

HILLSBORO — The boys golf teams from the Frontier Athletic Conference gathered Wednesday at the Hillsboro Elks Club for the fifth regular season match of conference teams.

Hillsboro and Chillicothe both shot team scores of 188.

The win went to Hillsboro by virtue of their fifth player score (52 to 62).

Jackson was third with a 192, Washington was fourth with a team total of 206, followed by McClain at 208 and Miami Trace with a 234.

Daniel Haller of Chillicothe was medalist with a 39.

Brock Morris and Ty Rose tied for the low score of 46 for the Blue Lions.

Cole Enochs led the Panthers with a 52.

Scores for McClain: Trenton Newkirk, 48; Wes Potts, 48; Seth Wise, 56; David Edwards, 56; Robbie Wise, 63; Carson Spangler, 65.

Scores for Hillsboro: Gabe Mycroft, 42; Gavin Puckett, 47; Hayden Miller, 48; Lawton Parry, 51; Bryce Bledsoe, 52; Ryan Harless, 52.

Other scores for Chillicothe: J.T. Kobel, 43; Luke Smith, 49; Jackson Bolen, 57; Gabe Corcoran, 62; Jacob LeMaster, 69.

Jackson moves into first place in the FAC with a record of 19-6.

McClain and Hillsboro are tied for second at 17-8.

Washington is fourth with a record of 12-13, followed by Chillicothe, 11-14 and Miami Trace, 0-25.

The FAC championship will be played Tuesday starting at 4 p.m. at the Hillsboro Elks course.
