On a quite hot Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Miami Trace tennis team hosted Chillicothe for a Frontier Athletic Conference match.
Chillicothe won the match, three courts to two.
At first singles, Abbey Sims Clark defeated Anita Pursell, 6-0, 6-0.
At second singles, Natalie Drotleff beat Bayley Thompson, 6-0, 6-1.
Cameron Bucher beat Asia Penn of Chillicothe at third singles, 6-4, 5-7, 10-5. The third set of that match was played as a 10-point tiebreaker to help shorten the match as Chillicothe had already won three courts to secure the overall match.
Ali Grossman and Maddie Schafer of Chillicothe beat Haiven Pepper and Alex King, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at first doubles.
At second doubles, Savannah Wisecup and Kenzie Seyfang of Miami Trace defeated Abby Pendell and Sydney Wissler, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5.
The teams played three junior-varsity matches Tuesday.
Riley Cruea and Kendall Elliott lost, 1-8; Jenna Goddard and Shania Peters fell, 1-8 and Maddie Frye and Lindsey Carter lost, 7-9.
Miami Trace will play another Frontier Athletic Conference match Thursday at Hillsboro beginning at 4:30 p.m.
