FAC boys golf race gets tighter

CHILLICOTHE — The Frontier Athletic Conference held its fourth boys golf match of the 2019 season Monday, Sept. 9 at the Chillicothe Country Club.

Jackson won with a team score of 184.

Hillsboro and Washington tied with scores of 188.

The tiebreaker, which went to Hillsboro, was the fifth score.

Chillicothe shot a 193 for fourth place, while McClain was fifth with a 195 and Miami Trace took sixth with a 232.

Daniel Haller of Chillicothe was match medalist with a score of 40.

Brock Morris was low for the Blue Lions with a 41.

Cole Enochs shot the low score of 51 for Miami Trace.

Wes Potts led McClain with a 44; Gabe Mycroft shot a 43 for Hillsboro and Trace Speakman had a 41 for Jackson.

Other scores for Washington: Ty Rose, 47; Drew Ferguson, 48; Brock Carter, 52; Brice Cartwright, 56; Caden Hott, 67.

McClain now leads the FAC with a record of 16-4.

Jackson is second at 15-5 and Hillsboro is third at 12-8.

Washington is fourth at 10-10, followed by Chillicothe, 7-13 and Miami Trace, 0-20.

Washington and Miami Trace are at Hillsboro for the fifth FAC match Wednesday at 4 p.m.
