Jackson wins FAC boys golf match

The Frontier Athletic Conference held its third boys’ golf match of the 2019 season Thursday, Aug. 29 at Buckeye Hills, McClain’s home course.

Jackson won the match with a team score of 180.

McClain was second with a 185 and the Blue Lions of Washington High School placed third with a team total 193.

Chillicothe placed fourth with a 194, followed by Hillsboro at 200 and Miami Trace at 229.

Trace Speakman of Jackson and Daniel Haller of Chillicothe tied for medalist honors, each with a score of 42.

Brice Cartwright led the Blue Lions with a 44.

Christian Porter led Miami Trace with a 48.

Other scores for Jackson: Caleb Rose, 43; Camryn Rose, 44; Ethan Rasp, 51; Bryson Brown, 60; Ethan Rice, 64.

Other scores for Hillsboro: Ryan Harless, 51; Bryce Bledsoe, 52; Jack Rhoades, 52; Hayden Miller, 53; Lawton Parry, 57.

McClain is 14-1 atop the FAC standings.

Jackson is 10-5, Hillsboro is 8-7, Washington is 7-8, Chillicothe has a record of 6-9 and Miami Trace is 0-15.

The FAC golf match orgininally scheduled for Aug. 26 was postponed and has been rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 9 at the Chillicothe Country Club.
