Blue Lions 2nd in tri-match

On a hot mid-August Monday afternoon, the Washington Blue Lion golf team hosted teams from Vinton County and Grandview Heights for a non-conference match.

Grandview eked out the win with a team score of 180 to 182 for Washington.

Vinton County shot a team total of 205.

Colin Cleary of Grandview was the medalist with a low 9-hole total of 40.

Brock Morris led the Blue Lions with a score of 42.

Isaiah Allen was low for the Vikings with a 48.

Also for Washington, Brice Cartwright shot a 44, Ty Rose had a 48, Cameron Johnson had a 48, Drew Ferguson shot a 54 and Caden Hott had a 59.

Other scores for Grandview: Brendan Cleary, 42; Jack Greer, 46; Nick Hayes, 52; Tyler Schmeid, 63; Dyllan Deafenbaugh, 63.

Other scores for Vinton County: Brock Hamon, 49; Ownen Sayler, 52; Eli Radabaugh, 56; Sam Huston, 57; Adam Tichenor, 71.

Washington hosts a Frontier Athletic Conference match Wednesday at 4 p.m.
