Miami Trace tennis beats Hillsboro

The Miami Trace girls tennis team held its home-opening match for the 2019 season against Hillsboro on Thursday, Aug. 15.

Miami Trace won the match, 5-0.

At first singles, Anita Pursell defeated Meriam Studebaker, 6-0, 6-2.

At second singles, Bayley Thompson beat Alexis Nicholas, 6-0, 3-0, retired.

Cameron Bucher won at third singles over Caroline Crouch, 6-0, 6-1.

At first doubles, Haiven Pepper and Kyleigh Slone beat Jenna Wilson and Hayley Norman, 6-1, 6-1.

At second doubles, Savannah Wisecup and Alex King defeated Sara Newsome and Abigail Koogler, 7-5, 6-1.

Miami Trace won four j-v doubles matches.

Riley Cruea and Kendall Elliott won, 8-1; Dee Page and Emma Seyfang won, 8-0; Maddie Frye and Jenna Goddard won, 6-0 and Cruea and Shania Peters won, 6-0.

Miami Trace (1-1 overall, 1-1 FAC) is at Jackson Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
