Lady Panthers edge Lady Lions, 37-34

On the first Saturday of 2016, the Miami Trace Lady Panthers welcomed the Washington Lady Blue Lions for an SCOL match-up at the Panther Pit.

In the varsity game, Miami Trace held on for a 37-34 victory.

Miami Trace is now 12-2 overall, 7-1 in the SCOL.

Washington is now 6-7 overall, 3-5 in the SCOL.

Miami Trace junior Samantha Ritenour was the game’s leading scorer with 13 points. She also led with nine rebounds.

Sophomore Tanner Bryant had nine points and junior Hanna Reisinger scored seven.

For Washington, junior Savannah Wallace and freshman Hannah Haithcock each scored eight points.

In the j-v game Saturday, Washington defeated Miami Trace, 31-23.

For Washington (now 10-2 overall, 6-2 in the SCOL), a trio of players led, each with six points: Tabby Woods, Ally Funari and Delaney Greer.

For Miami Trace (now 10-4 overall, 6-2 SCOL), Tori Evans led with eight points. Becca Ratliff was next with four points.

Miami Trace is back on the court at home Wednesday against East Clinton.

Washington returns to action Wednesday at Wilmington.

The j-v games get underway at 5:30 p.m.
