Taylor was a total team player for our program during her high school career. We asked her to play at different positions each season and she came through for her team every time. Taylor demonstrated her leadership skills in many ways during the past 4 years. She was selected as one of our co-captains in 2018. Always one of our hardest workers and one of our most dedicated. She would be the first to give support to her teammates. And she gave back to our program, helping with our middle school summer programs and camps. Taylor was the first to volunteer to help run our 4-5-6 grade volleyball program, teaching first time players how to play and love the game. I am excited to see what she accomplishes in the next chapter of her life.

It is an honor to recommend Taylor Dawson of Miami Trace, for the 2019 Christman Award. Taylor is an outstanding young lady who has become an excellent leader and role model at Miami Trace High School not only in the classroom but in the realm of athletics as well.

Taylor’s leadership qualities do not stop at the track, they also follow her through the halls of school. The respect Taylor has earned from her peers, teachers, teammates and coaches is attributed to her character and attitude.

Taylor is one of the most determined and selfless individuals on the team. On numerous occasions this year she was asked to compete in an event that she was not scheduled for because it would help the team. When asked, she said “yes” every time. It is a shame that I only had one year to work with her!
