MT tennis falls at Hillsboro, 3-2

HILLSBORO — The Miami Trace tennis team visited Hillsboro for a Frontier Athletic Conference match with the Indians Wednesday, May 1.

Hillsboro won the match, three courts to two. They finish as undefeated FAC champions with a record of 8-0.

At first singles, Hillsboro’s Gabe Gilliland beat Isaac Abare, 6-1, 6-0.

At second singles, Andrew Gunderman took three sets to beat Devin Riggs, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5.

“This was the last match being played and came down to the final game in the third set,” Miami Trace head coach Greg Leach explained.

Miami Trace’s Kody Burns won his third singles match over Tyler Snapp, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.

At first doubles, Miami Trace’s Caleb Perry and Rylan Gardner beat Austin Pendell and Ethan Snapp, 7-5, 6-1.

At second doubles, the Panthers’ Sebastian Gurruchaga and Austin Musser lost, 1-6, 3-6.

Miami Trace is 5-2 in the FAC.
