Lady Lions fall to defending FAC champs Jackson, 6-0

JACKSON — The Washington Lady Blue Lions varsity softball team visited Jackson Monday for a Frontier Athletic Conference match-up with the defending champion Iron Ladies.

Jackson won the game, 6-0.

T. Evans was the winning pitcher for Jackson. She pitched seven innings with two hits, 10 strikeouts and one walk.

Makenna Knisley started and took the loss for Washington.

She pitched six innings with 10 hits and six earned runs. She struck out four and issued one walk.

Maddy Jenkins and Kassidy Olsson had hits for Washington.

S. Humphreys, L. Alford and K. Newkirk each had two hits for Jackson.

Newkirk and K. Bako hit home runs for the Iron Ladies.

Washington (1-9 overall) is at Adena Tuesday and at Greenfield to play McClain Wednesday. Game time is 5 p.m.

In other FAC games Monday, Miami Trace defeated Hillsboro, 1-0 and McClain beat Chillicothe, 4-3.
