MT girls j-v beats McClain

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers junior-varsity basketball team played the penultimate game in the Panther Pit Monday, Jan. 28 when they welcomed McClain for a Frontier Athletic Conference contest.

Miami Trace won the game, 26-14, improving to 15-3 overall, 7-1 in the FAC.

Miami Trace led 5-2 at the end of the first quarter and 10-6 at halftime.

The Lady Tigers scored eight points in the third quarter to six for Miami Trace to give the Lady Panthers a 16-14 lead.

Miami Trace outscored McClain 10-0 in the fourth quarter.

Sidney Payton was the game’s leading scorer for Miami Trace with nine points.

Libby Aleshire scored eight, Mallory Pavey had five, Emma Pistick scored three and Sam Sever added two.

Iva Easter and Josie Crabtree led McClain, each with four points.
