MT gymnasts host quad meet

The Miami Trace High School gymnastic program played host to Columbus DeSales, Marysville, and Delaware Hayes Friday night, Dec. 21 in their first home meet of the season.

Earning a total of 12 new personal high scores, the Miami Trace team boosted their overall score to 117.35, good for a third place standing.

Marysville won the meet with a 126.10 score; Delaware Hayes was a close second (125.25) and Columbus DeSales completed the meet in fourth place (79.9).

Miami Trace freshman, Milana Macioce, earned increased high marks on all four of her events – vault (7.6), uneven bars (6.25), balance beam (6.8) and floor exercise (7.4).

Freshman teammate Alyssa Butler, tallied up three personal best results of her own; vault (8.0) bars (5.5) floor exercise (6.55).

Devan Thomas stood in the award placing at the completion of the meet – 5th vault (7.95), 1st bars (8.05), 2nd balance beam (9.05) and 2nd in the all-around (32.75).

Lizzy Valentine of Greeneview High School, placed 5th in all-around, (30.9) and 5th on bars (7.1).

Alyssa Butler was 4th on vault with an 8.0 score.

The team is off until Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 when they travel to Worthington for an all-day invitational competition.
