Wilmington College to honor seniors Saturday

Two graduates of Washington High School are preparing to play in their final college football game Saturday afternoon.

Zach Zurface graduated from WHS in 2013 and Malik Pettiford is a 2014 graduate of Washington High School.

Both play for the Wilmington College Quakers.

The Quakers are a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference and are an NCAA Division III school.

Zurface is the son of Rikki and Brian Zurface and the grandson of Dave and Jetty Edwards.

Pettiford is the son of Nikki and Mike Virts and the grandson of Melanie and Kimball Pettiford. He is also the father of a two-week-old daughter, Kehlani Pettiford.

Zach is a business major and Malik is a criminal justice major at Wilmington College.

Zurface played for Clinton-Massie and during his junior year he led the state in yards per carry in Division IV.

He attended Washington High School his senior year and was injured in the first game of the season.

Wilmington, currently 1-8 on the season, will host Otterbein Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Zurface and Pettiford will be joined by three other seniors, Kyle Ackley, Saul Boysel and Gino Hinton for the game against the Cardinals.

Zurface has played in nine games this season with 29 tackles and one interception.

In 24 games for Wilmington, Pettiford has 258 total yards, including 198 receiving yards on 23 receptions.
