The Fayette Christian Crusaders lost their first game of the season Friday, Sept. 29, 10-7 to Wayside Warriors at the FCS facilities.

There were four lead changes and four ties in the contest before the Warriors scored five unanswered goals within a 15 minute span in the second half.

Warriors (5-1) were led by Nic Garcia with four goals, Rei Garcia and Jordan Gregory with 3 goals each.

Crusaders, now 6-1, were led by Spencer Hanusik and Nicholas Epifano with two goals each and both Tyler Havens and Michael Miller added one goal each.

One of the Crusaders’ goals came when the ball bounced off the leg of a Warrior player standing in front of the Crusaders goal.

Goalie Sam Sheeter had 11 saves during the contest as the Warriors had 35 shot attempts in the contest.

The two teams faced each other again, this time in Bucyrus at the Wayside facility on Monday, Oct. 1 as the two teams battle for a high seed in the upcoming state BCSO tournament later in the month.
