Lady Lions compete in 1st golf Sectional

CHILLICOTHE — The Washington Lady Blue Lion golf team completed its first season of play in the Division II Sectional tournament at the Jaycees course in Chillicothe Monday, Sept. 24.

The McClain Lady Tigers, who won the Frontier Athletic Conference title, captured the Sectional championship with a 438.

North Adams was second with a 446 and Logan Elm placed third with a team score of 453.

Those three teams will compete in the District tournament at the Pickaway Country Club Tuesday morning.

Freshman Maddi Shoults of Westfall was the Sectional champion with a score of 84.

Also qualifying to the District as individuals were Rachel Schuler of Leesburg Fairfield (89) and Lindsey Daniel of West Union (91).

Washington placed 13th as a team with a 566.

Savannah Osborne led Washington with a 127.

Haley Hixon shot a 137, Raven Haithcock, 146, Bre Taylor, 156 and Eryne Croker, 166.

Scores for McClain: Bryn Karnes, 93; Erika Martin, 101; Brianna Weller, 111; Cassidy Willis, 133 and Shayna Beatty, 137.

Miami Trace is in Division I in girls golf and will compete in the Sectional tournament Monday at Pickaway Country Club Monday, along with FAC rivals Jackson.
