Lady Crusaders fight for the victory

On Tuesday, Sept. 18, the Fayette Christian School varsity volleyball team played Wilmington Christian Academy. Hoping to improve their record, the Crusaders were determined to defeat the visiting Eagles.

Coach Charlie Morgan advised, “If what we have now isn’t working, we need to change it up.”

He adjusted the rotation to allow for a strong back row at all times. The team’s biggest struggle has been moving to the ball fast enough. The new change-up helped the Crusaders pull through for a win.

Hopefully, this will positively affect the team for the rest of the season.

Fayette Christian JH volleyball faces Bishop Flaget

On Monday, Sept. 17, Fayette’s volleyball team played aggressively to the end. The first game started out in Fayette’s favor. Letisha Knepp (captain) served 7 in a row, giving her the reputation of a consistent server. She brought the score to 17-11. They continued strong and won the first game.

Unfortunately, Bishop Flaget won the second game, only leaving the Fayette Christian Crusaders to fight harder in the third. The teams ended up having to play 5 games, which is unusual for junior high. The last game was neck and neck. Letisha served the Crusaders into a lead of 15-14, but they fell behind in the end.

This loss was nothing to be ashamed of, but only a time to grow.

Coach Richmond notes, “The girls fought hard, and we’ll get them next time.” Their record now stands at 5-2.
