Lady Lion tennis beats Hillsboro, Circleville

The Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team hosted a Frontier Athletic Conference match with Hillsboro Thursday, Sept. 20.

Washington won the match, 5-0,

At first singles, Megan Downing defeated Miriam Studebaker, 6-0, 6-0.

At second singles, Jen Richards beat Johanna Holt, 6-1, 6-1.

Brooklyn Foose won at third singles, 6-0, 6-0 against Kenzie Adams.

At first doubles, Sydnie Hall and Bethany Wilt beat Alexis Nicholas and Caroline Crouch, 6-3, 6-0.

At second doubles, Brynne Frederick and Payton Maddux won by forfeit.

On Wednesday, Sept. 19, Washington played a match against Circleville.

The Lady Lions won that match, 5-0.

At first singles, Megan Downing defeated Elizabeth Timmons, 5-7, 6-4, 10-5. The outcome of the match already having been decided, the third set was contested as a tiebreaker to 10.

At second singles, Jen Richards topped Allyson Withers, 6-1, 6-1.

At third singles, Brooklyn Foose beat Abby Michael, 6-0, 6-0.

At first doubles, Sydnie Hall and Bethany Wilt beat Emma Shaw and Kara Hinton, 6-2, 7-5.

Brynne Frederick and Payton Maddux won their second doubles match, 6-3, 6-0 over Ella Jenkins and Breanna Lawhorn.

Washington is scheduled to host Miami Trace Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
