McClain wins season-opening FAC girls golf match

The Frontier Athletic Conference held its first girls’ golf match of the 2018 season Thursday, Aug. 9 in Jackson.

McClain won the match with a team score of 200.

Erica Martin of McClain was the medalist with a score of 39.

Miami Trace was second with a score of 246.

Jackson was third at 253 and Washington, playing the first girls’ golf match in the school’s history, placed fourth with a team total of 292.

Libby Aleshire led Miami Trace with a 53.

Also for Miami Trace, Makayla Barnes, 59; Alyssa Butler, 64; Ragan Hagler, 70; Meri Grace Carson, 74 and Destinee Butcher, 74.

Raven Haithcock led Washington with a score of 63.

Other scores for Washington: Savannah Osborne, 73; Haley Hixon, 75; Eryne Croker, 81 and Breanna Taylor, 83.

Also for McClain: Bri Weller, 48; Bryna Karnes, 53; Cassidy Willis, 60; Shayna Beatty, 64; Liz Kegley, 71.

Kylie Defoy led Jackson with a 59.

Other scores for Jackson: Kylie Duncan, 60; Madeline Lewis, 67; Kaltra Woltz, 67; Isabella Scullytenpenny, 69; Sierra Stiffler, 73.

The four FAC golf teams will play at the Club at Quail Run Monday at 4 p.m.

MT places 2nd, WHS 4th
