The Washington Blue Lion soccer team closed out the regular season portion of its schedule with a game against visiting Westfall Tuesday night.

Washington rolled to a 9-0 victory.

Trent Brown scored three goals for the Blue Lions and Seth Hanusik, Blaise Tayese, Kenny Upthegrove, Alex Trombold, Logan Jackson and Eli Ruth each had one goal for Washington.

“This game was just what we needed,” Washington head coach Aaron Teter said. “They’re a beginning program, but, I thought we looked pretty sharp tonight, too. Especially offensively, spreading the ball around.

“Zane Trace will be a challenge for us,” Teter said. “But this gives us the confidence and the tune-up we need to get there.”

In goal for the Blue Lions, Brian Wilson recorded his third shutout of the season.

The Blue Lions (4-10-2) will play at Zane Trace against the Pioneers Monday at 5 p.m. in the Sectional tournament.
