Lady Tiger soccer beats Lady Lions, 5-1

The Washington Lady Blue Lion soccer team honored its seven seniors following a match against the McClain Lady Tigers on a beautiful Tuesday evening, Oct. 6.

Washington’s seniors are: Alexis Gray, Kara Foy, Cassy Hart, Wendy Hawk, MaryKate VanDyke, Ashley Rose and Roma Patel.

McClain put something of a damper on the evening as they came away with a 5-1 victory.

It was McClain’s first win of the season.

McClain led 2-0 at the half.

McClain led 3-0 prior to a goal from Alexis Gray, coming near the 20-minute mark of the second half. No assist was given.

For McClain, Taylor Polley had three goals, Haley Peterman scored one goal and Keli Uhrig had one goal.

McClain is now 1-10 overall.

“It took us a while to get it together,” McClain head coach Shawn Peterman said. “It’s a positive way to go into our game at Hillsboro Thursday.”

Washington, now 2-12 on the season, is at Miami Trace Thursday at 5 p.m.
