Varsity baseball and softball tournament pairings were announced Sunday afternoon.

In baseball, the Miami Trace Panthers are a No. 1 seed with a record of 11-3.

The Panthers will await the winner of the McClain (No. 8 seed, 3-13) vs. Logan Elm (No. 9 seed, 1-11) game that will be played on Monday, May 7.

Miami Trace will play the McClain/Logan Elm winner at MTHS on Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m.

The winner of that game is a Sectional champion and will play in the District semifinals at Ohio University in Athens Monday, May 14 at 5 p.m. They would play the winner between No. 4 seed Athens (11-4) and No. 5 seed Waverly (10-8).

The Washington Blue Lions are a No. 2 seed, with a record of 10-3 (now 13-4 overall).

The Blue Lions will await the winner of the Hillsboro (No. 7 seed, 6-11) vs. New Lexington (No. 10 seed, 1-7). Hillsboro hosts New Lexington Monday, May 7 at 5 p.m.

The winner of the Washington vs. Hillsboro/New Lexington winner will be a Sectional champion and will play in the District semifinals Monday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at Ohio University in Athens.

Jackson is a No. 9 seed (5-7) and will play at Alexander (No. 8 seed, 8-7) on Monday, May 7 for the chance to play the No. 1 seed Zane Trace (15-2) at ZTHS on Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m.

They will play the winner between Marietta (No. 3 seed, 9-5) and Gallia Academy (No. 6 seed, 7-8).

In varsity softball, Washington is a No. 6 seed and will play at Fairfield Union Wednesday, May 9 at 5 p.m. The winner of that game will play the Warren/Chillicothe winner on Monday, May 14. Chillicothe is a No. 7 seed (6-6) and Warren is a No. 2 seed (9-2).

Miami Trace (4-8) is a No. 7 seed and will play at Circleville Wednesday, May 9 at 5 p.m.

The winner of that game will play the Waverly/Athens winner Tuesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. Waverly (No. 3 seed, 10-5) hosts Athens (No. 6, 7-7) on Wednesday, May 9 at 5 p.m.

Jackson (12-2) is a No. 1 seed and will play the winner of the Vinton County (No. 8, 7-7) vs River Valley (No. 9, 4-6) game on Wednesday, May 9 at 5 p.m. Vinton County hosts River Valley Saturday, May 5 at 11 a.m.

Hillsboro is a No. 9 seed (0-13) and will play at Logan Elm (No. 8, 2-9) on Saturday, May 5 for the opportunity to play at No. 1 seed Sheridan (12-2) on Wednesday, May 9.

McClain (No. 5, 10-7) will play at New Lexington (No. 4, 7-9) on Wednesday, May 7. The winner of that game will more than likely play Jackson on Tuesday, May 15 at 5 p.m.
