BLT beats Gallia Academy, Chillicothe

On a much colder than normal Monday, April 9, the Washington Blue Lion tennis team hosted Gallia Academy in a non-league match.

Washington won the encounter, four courts to one.

At first singles, Jordan Behm lost to Wilcoxon, 2-6, 2-6.

At second singles, Jack Luebbe defeated Mayes, 6-0, 6-2.

Grant Kuhlwein topped Hesson, 6-0, 6-0.

Max Schroeder and Maria Pickerill won at first doubles over Carpenter and Sawamoto, 6-1, 6-0.

At second doubles, Blaise Tayese and McKenzie Cress beat Hamilton and Masters, 6-0, 6-2.

On Friday, April 6, Washington defeated Chillicothe in a Frontier Athletic Conference match, 5-0.

Jordan Behm won at first singles over Jonah Halm, 6-2, 6-2.

Jack Luebbe defeated Garritt Anders at second singles, 6-0, 6-3.

Grant Kuhlwein won the third singles court by forfeit.

At first doubles, Max Schroeder and Blaise Tayese defeated Katie Connor and Gabe Mamone, 6-0, 6-2.

The second doubles team of McKenzie Cress and Keiya Satoh beat Darrel Ratliff and Reese Hatfield, 6-2, 6-1.

Washington is now 2-1 overall (1-1 in the FAC) with a match on their home courts at Gardner Park against Miami Trace Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
