Lady Lions fall to Chillicothe

CHILLICOTHE — The Washington Lady Blue Lion varsity softball team played a Frontier Athletic Conference game at Chillicothe against the Lady Cavaliers Friday, April 6.

Chillicothe won the game, 18-2 in five innings.

Hall was the winning pitcher for Chillicothe.

She started and pitched three innings with two hits and one unearned run. She struck out one and walked three.

Cunningham pitched two innings with one run (earned) on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

Jordan Kearns started for Washington and took the loss.

She pitched 2.1 innings with 12 runs (10 earned) on nine hits. She struck out four and issued four walks.

Brooklyn Devenport pitched 1.2 innings with six runs (all earned) on four hits with one walk and one strikeout.

Corynn Chrisman, Devenport and Lilly Cowman each had one hit for Washington.

Cunningham hit two home runs for Chillicothe, including a grand slam, and drove in seven runs.

Johnson, Brown, Hall and Winfield each had two hits and Fulkerson had two hits, including a home run and three rbi. Brown also drove in three runs.

Washington scored one run in the first and one in the fourth.

Chillicothe scored six in the first, two in the second, four in the third and six in the fourth.

Washington (1-4 overall, 1-1 in the FAC) will host McClain Wednesday at 5 p.m.
