Blue Lion golf beats Wilmington

The Washington Blue Lion golf team played its final home match of the 2015 season Wednesday at the Club at Quail Run.

Washington took on Wilmington and won the SCOL match, 174 to 186.

Washington said thank you to its three seniors: Max Knisley, Cole Massie and Trevor Mustain.

Knisley was the medalist with a score of 37.

Griffin Shaw shot a 42, Kyler Mount had a score of 45, Tyler Rood shot a 50, Massie had a score of 60 and Mustain had a 64.

“I just want to thank our seniors for all their effort and hard work,” Washington coach Shannon Bartruff said. “This has been a great group of kids to coach. Their parents should be very proud of the young men that they have raised.”

Carey had the low score of 42 for Wilmington.

Other scores for Wilmington: Dylan Combs, 46; Hunter DeWeese, 46; Smart, 52; Derek Cope, 52 and Reiley, 53.

The SCOL tournament is next for the Blue Lions Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Chillicothe Country Club.
