Lady Panthers soccer falls to Minford, 3-1

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team hosted Minford Saturday.

Minford made the long trip worthwhile with a 3-1 win.

Minford scored first off a direct kick early in the first half.

Miami Trace tied the score with a goal by Emily Powell assisted by Becca Ratliff.

Minford scored again the first half taking a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes of action.

Minford converted a penalty kick in the second half for the final score of 3-1.

Khenadi Grubb had three saves in the goal for Miami Trace.

“The girls played hard and we possessed the ball well the majority of the game,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said. “We just had trouble finding the back of the net.”

Miami Trace, now 4-10, has two games this week before going into the tournament. The Lady Panthers host Ponitz on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. for Senior Night.
