Hillsboro edges Lady Panthers, 2-1

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers battled Hillsboro in a Frontier Athletic Conference soccer match Thursday, Sept. 28.

Hillsboro won the match, 2-1.

The Lady Indians scored twice in the first half.

“Going into the second half (trailing) 2-0, we knew we had to step up our intensity,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said.

With 9:48 left in the half Becca Ratliff scored for Miami Trace.

“(Becca) beat a defender and took a great shot to put us on the scoreboard,” Francis said.

Khenadi Grubb had three saves in goal before Aubrey Schwartz stepped in as a keeper and had another three saves in the goal.

Miami Trace is 3-8 overall and 3-5 in the FAC.

The Lady Panthers host Jackson Tuesday at 5 p.m.
