MT tennis beats Circleville

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers tennis team hosted the Lady Tigers of Circleville High School Monday, Sept. 25.

Miami Trace won the non-conference match, three courts to two.

At first singles, Miami Trace’s Anita Pursell defeated Taylor Huffer, 6-4, 6-1.

At second singles, Miami Trace’s Bayley Thompson lost to Melanie Winter, 3-6, 2-6.

At third singles, the Lady Panthers’ Beth Hogsett, playing singles for the first time in match play, lost to Allyson Withers, 2-6, 0-6.

Miami Trace seniors Cassie VanDyke and Jackie Wisecup teamed up for first doubles and defeated Elizabeth Timmons and Madalyn Fausnaugh, 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1.

At second doubles, Miami Trace’s Cameron Bucher and Haiven Pepper played Kara Hinton and Emma Shaw and came away with the win, 6-3, 5-7, 7-5.

In j-v play, Miami Trace’s Kenzie Seyfang and Lydia Zwoll defeated Brianna Lawhun and Taylor Frazier, 7-5.

Miami Trace’s Savannah Wisecup played singles against Madison Graul and lost, 2-8.

Taylor Moore of Miami Trace played Brianna Lawhun and beat her, 3-2. That match was halted due to darkness.
