The Miami Trace Panthers varsity soccer team hosted the McClain Tigers in a Frontier Athletic Conference match Tuesday, Sept. 26.

McClain won the match, 1-0.

“McClain out hustled us,” Miami Trace head coach Josh Thoroman said. “You could say we outplayed them, because we had more possession of the ball and more shots.”

Miami Trace had one goal waived off due to an offsides call.

“The McClain keeper made a miraculous save, somehow managing to keep the ball in play and not letting it cross the goal line,” Thoroman said.

McClain’s goal came from Caleb Goddard from nearly 40 yards out.

Thoroman complimented the play of Jaden Haldeman and Drew Batson.

“They both played great,” Thoroman said.

Miami Trace had 14 shots on goal to 11 for McClain.

Fouls were 16 for the Panthers and seven for the Tigers.

Miami Trace remains at home for a match Thursday against Hillsboro at 6:45 p.m.
