Lady Lion volleyball defeats Hillsboro

HILLSBORO — The Washington Lady Blue Lion volleyball teams were on the road Thursday, Sept. 21 for Frontier Athletic Conference matches at Hillsboro High School.

Washington came away victorious in both the j-v and varsity matches.

Washington won the varsity match in straight sets, 25-19, 25-17 and 25-17.

In attacks, Hannah Haithcock was 15 of 18 with seven kills; Faith Kobel was 9 of 10 with six kills and Rayana Burns was 8 of 9 with three kills.

In passing, Haithcock had nine digs, Tabby Woods had seven and Delaney Greer had six.

For serving, Maddie Jenkins was 14 of 15 with two aces; Halli Wall was 14 of 14 with two aces and Greer was 12 of 12 with two aces.

In setting, Wall was 46 of 48 with 11 assists.

Washington is now 5-7 overall, 3-3 in the FAC.

The Lady Lion j-v team remained undefeated in the FAC with a 25-6, 25-22 win at Hillsboro Thursday.

In attacks, Brittney Wilson was 10 of 11 with four kills; Rachel Palmer was 7 of 7 with three kills and Mallory Hicks was 8 of 9 with one kill.

In the passing department, Emily Semler was 16 of 18; Mackenzie Truex was 6 of 6 and Hicks was 6 of 8.

In serving, Hicks was 7 of 8 with five aces; Semler was 8 of 8 with one ace and Emma Funari was 10 of 10.

In setting, Funari was 19 of 20 with 11 assists.

Washington is now 8-1 overall, 6-0 in the Frontier Athletic Conference.

Washington will host Chillicothe Tuesday at 5 p.m.
