Lady Lion tennis beats Waverly, 3-2

WAVERLY — The Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team traveled to Waverly Monday, Sept. 11 to take on the Lady Tigers in a non-conference match.

Washington won the match, three courts to two.

Washington won all three of its singles matches, while Waverly won the two doubles courts.

At first singles, Megan Downing defeated Megan Long, 6-1, 6-4.

At second singles, Jen Richards went three sets to beat Alli Entler, 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3).

Sydnie Hall shut out Kaylin Smith at third singles, 6-0, 6-0.

At first doubles, Bethany Wilt and Brooklyn Foose lost to Heidi Lamerson and Shanda Nibert, 3-6, 4-6.

At second doubles, Payton Maddux and Brynne Frederick fell to Kayleah Shiland and Kenzie Penrod, 2-6, 6-4, 4-6.

After a home match in the Frontier Athletic Conference Tuesday against Jackson, Washington will return to tennis action Monday at Unioto.
