GREENFIELD — The Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team picked up its first win of the season Thursday at McClain High School, 5-2 over the Lady Tigers.

McClain scored first.

Miami Trace tied it with a penalty kick by Becca Ratliff. The Lady Panthers then took the lead in the first half with two more goals by Ratliff giving her a hat trick.

In the second half McClain responded with a goal of their own, making it a 3-2 game.

Khenadi Grubb saved a penalty kick from McClain keeping Miami Trace in the lead.

Macy Creamer scored on a penalty kick for Miami Trace at the 10-minute mark and then again four minutes later, ending the game, 5-2.

Grubb had six saves in the goal.

“McClain came out hard each half but our girls were prepared to step up their intensity,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said. “We kept working the ball down the field until the shots went in.”

Miami Trace (now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Frontier Athletic Conference) will play next Thursday at Unioto at 5:30 p.m.
