Lady Panther tennis beats Unioto, 3-2

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers tennis team hosted Unioto Tuesday, Aug. 22, coming away with a 3-2 victory.

At first singles, for Miami Trace, Cassie VanDyke lost to Sylvia Gray, 0-6, 0-6.

Anita Pursell had a three-set match against Unioto’s Macy Bridenbaugh at second singles.

Bridenbaugh won the match, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-0).

“It was another amazing match at third singles,” Miami Trace head coach Kim Schirtzinger said.

Miami Trace’s Bayley Thompson battled Michelle Kerns and came away with the win, 6-1, 6-7 (3-8), 6-2.

At first doubles, Miami Trace’s Cameron Bucher and Haiven Pepper defeated Neysea Edwards and Eden Griesheimer, 6-3, 6-1.

Miami Trace’s Jackie Wisecup and Beth Hogsett won their second doubles match against Sarah Spires and Alyssa Gonzalez, 6-3, 6-4.

In j-v play, Miami Trace’s Kenzie Seyfang and Autumn Thomas won, 8-0.

Miami Trace will play at the Wilmington Invitational Saturday.
